Due to a nationwide shortage, Clinical Pathology Laboratories (CPL) has been informed that the current 3.2% sodium citrate Vacutainer® collection tube supplied by Becton-Dickinson is currently not available to resupply clients and collection centers. The Greiner Bio-One Vacuette® collection tube has been identified as a clinically identical replacement device, and the laboratory has placed a large order and initiated acceptance studies. We expect to be able to restock and respond to supply requests for collection tubes on 5/14/2021. Until then, the laboratory will make every effort to identify residual collection tubes available in our and our partner inventories, will conserve the residual tubes that we have on hand, will identify alternate tube stocks and may request that elective testing be rescheduled until after supply is reestablished.
